Khari worked with our band as part of our ‘dismantling white supremacy’ project. I can’t say enough good things about him. He made everyone feel comfortable, all the while challenging us to explore different ways of thinking and communicating about tough issues. Khari is an amazing facilitator; he not only leads the session but participates in a way that is sincere and thoughtful. Queer As Funk is so grateful to have gotten a chance to work with Khari.

My experience of Khari’s facilitation and leadership at Culture Jam was profound. I found him to be a skilled and present guide for both the youth and the adult mentors. He showed deep skill in holding a safe yet accountable space for the youth to learn and grow as individuals. Khari moved gracefully between the role of instructor and supporter, and I know myself and the youth were sincerely inspired by his presence and genuine commitment to community building. The role of lead facilitator is not an easy one and requires a diverse skill set and a lot of experience to do well. Khari is an outstanding example of the kind of leader I aspire to be.

In his facilitation, Khari is able to blend compassion and kindness with strong vision. He helps folks to feel seen for who they are as individuals, and at once creates a sturdy emotional container for the group as a whole. When you're in a workshop with Khari, you're able to trust that whatever journey you're on, it's going to be transformational. Weaving in personal story and song, Khari is able to contextualize concepts ranging from oppressive societal structures, to personal growth and empowerment in a way that is concise, thoughtful, and deeply moving. I've seen folks of all ages- myself included- find courage, voice, and insight through working with Khari. Khari's facilitation style had a profound impact on me as a young person. His work helped me to discover my own sense of leadership, humility, and purpose. I'm am extremely grateful to have had him as a role model during a pivotal moment in my life.
